Take care through the May-October low season, when the undertow can become dangerously strong along the west coast. The warm water temperature (27-28°C) means that snorkellers don't need to wear wetsuits, though wearing a t-shirt is advised to prevent sunburn.

It’s an activity that anyone can enjoy with a minimum of equipment and preparation. Both Phuket itself and many of the islands within range of Phuket have lots of shallow coral that makes for excellent snorkeling. Many of the exotic marine creatures that inhabit the coral reef are accessible to skin-divers, and the shallow, sunlit waters show colours off to their best effect.

If you need an adrenaline pumping, take a  bungy jumping. For those adventurous types who live for challenges, you can jump 50 metres over the Jungle Lagoon at the Jungle Bungy Jump in Kathu.
